
A 10-year-old boy, was struck by a Toyota Tacoma shortly before 4:35 p.m. at South Sycamore Street and East Carolina Avenue. Fruita police, and Lower Valley Fire responded with lights and sirens.
The child was conscious and breathing but bleeding from the nose and reported to be intermittently unconscious. The patient was in the roadway, and East Carolina Avenue was shut down for the emergency response.
The juvenile was transported with serious injury to St Mary’s Hospital.
