A vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash was reported around 2:18 a.m. at North Avenue and North 10th Street. Fire and EMS crews responded with lights and sirens after a male was initially reported unconscious but breathing. The pedestrian was later reported awake and talking, with bleeding from his head, nose and mouth.
Radio traffic indicated the crash may have been a hit-and-run. Witnesses provided conflicting descriptions of a possible white GMC SUV or gray sedan traveling westbound on North Avenue. Responders located the pedestrian in the westbound lanes near the curb, and law enforcement was asked to block westbound North Avenue from 12th Street while crews evaluated the patient.
