From the Grand Junction Police Department:
On April 24, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a felony menacing outside of Denny’s Restaurant located at 710 Horizon Drive.
911 dispatchers with the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center received a report of a large fight occurring outside the restaurant. Upon arrival, officers observed an individual pick up a rock and throw it at another male. The suspect attempted to flee and was quickly detained by officers.
Through their investigation, officers learned that a verbal argument had escalated into a physical altercation. During the incident, one of the individuals produced a knife and attempted to stab another male.
Two people were arrested in connection with this incident.
Jesse Bell (age 43)
- Assault in the Third Degree (three counts)
- Disorderly Conduct.
Omar Perez (age 33)
- Menacing-Real/Simulated Weapon
- Assault in the Second Degree
- Second Degree Criminal Trespass
- Obstructing a Peace Officer
The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community. This incident remains under investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
