House fire on Cedar Street just east of North 13th Street. Fire started in the stove and has spread. Police on scene requesting emergent backup to help residents and animals out of the home. Flames seen coming out of the east side of the home and spreading to a shed. A neighboring home has also been evacuated. All occupants of the home have made it out safely, however pets are still inside. Fire crews have rescued at least two dogs and a cat.

Grand Junction, Colo. — At 12:22 a.m., the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a structure fire on the 1300 block of Cedar Avenue. Multiple 9-1-1 callers reported visible flames inside the home, with an unknown number of people and pets possibly still inside.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire burning on the southeast corner of the residence, which had extended to a nearby shed. Crews quickly confirmed that all residents had evacuated safely, though pets remained unaccounted for inside the home. Firefighters worked swiftly to extinguish the flames, conduct a thorough search for the missing pets, and ensure the fire was fully out.
No injuries were reported. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
The Grand Junction Police Department assisted with scene safety and temporarily evacuated neighboring homes as a precaution. GJPD Victim Advocates were also on scene to support those affected. The American Red Cross is assisting three displaced residents, along with one dog and one cat.
