Grand Junction, CO – May 15, 2025 – The Mesa County Coroner’s Office has released details regarding the deaths of Brenda Villareal, a 42-year-old woman, and Jesus Tanori-Bermudez, a 44-year-old man, who were found deceased in their home near the 3100 block of E Road in Grand Junction on May 10, 2025. The couple, who were married and residents of Grand Junction, were identified by Coroner Dean Havlik, MD.
According to the coroner’s report, Brenda Villareal succumbed to gunshot wounds and blunt force injuries, with the manner of death determined to be a homicide. Jesus Tanori-Bermudez died of a gunshot wound, and his death has been ruled a suicide. The Grand Junction Police Department, which is leading the investigation, believes this to be a murder-suicide.
Authorities have stated that the incident appears to be isolated, with no indication of any outstanding suspects at this time. The investigation remains ongoing, but no further details are available as of now.
