GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The City of Grand Junction has announced a special one-day exception to allow the use of propane grills in Lincoln Park on Independence Day, July 4, 2025, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. This temporary allowance aims to support residents and visitors in celebrating the holiday with gatherings and meals in the park.
To ensure safety and a pleasant experience for all, specific conditions must be followed. Only propane grills are permitted, and they must be attended at all times during use. Grilling is restricted to within Lincoln Park during park hours, and users are responsible for cleaning up all waste, including food scraps, grease, and ash. The city recommends having a fire extinguisher on hand for safety. All other park rules, such as those concerning noise, alcohol, and trash, remain in effect. City staff or law enforcement may revoke grilling privileges if activities disrupt others’ enjoyment of the park.
This exception is enacted under Administrative Regulation in line with City Code and the 2024 Park Rules, providing a unique opportunity for holiday celebrations in a communal setting.
