
Police are out with suspect involved in a shooting at Main Street and North 9th St. Officers are also in the area of Rood Avenue and North 10th Street at an apartment that was involved. Shell casings were found at the Rood Avenue location. Officers have a suspect in custody.
Update: Police report there are no injuries. Officers will remain in the area as they continue their investigation.
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. โ On August 1, 2025, at around 11:05 a.m., the Grand Junction Police Department responded to reports of shots fired near N 10th Street and Rood Avenue. Officers quickly located and apprehended a male suspect matching the description near N 10th Street and Main Street without incident. Criminal charges are pending.
Initial reports suggested the shots originated from a nearby residence, but further investigation confirmed the suspect fired multiple rounds into the air at the intersection of N 10th Street and Rood Avenue. Police recovered several spent cartridge casings and a firearm at the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Grand Junction Police Department has stated that this appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation remains active, and no additional information is available at this time.
