Disturbance, Epps Dr & 29 Road

Police are on scene on a disturbance in the area of 29 RD and Epps Dr. GJPD on scene requested emergency backup after and individual stated a person tried to kill someone. There are multiple subjects the police are dealing with and at least one individual was held at gunpoint by officers. Grand Junction Police are receiving assistance from Sheriff and State Patrol. 29 road is closed between Bunting and Texas. Law enforcement has multiple people in custody involved in the incident. An ambulance was sent to the scene for a report of a female having difficulty breathing.

A Grand Junction Police officer was driving in the 500 block of 29 Road on 06/13/24, at approximately 1:00 p.m., when a male flagged him down and told him he had information on a prior reported incident. Officers responded to the area and learned the male was involved in a verbal dispute with individuals in the last few days. Multiple people located in the residence were contacted, questioned, and found to have outstanding warrants.

Elgin Warren (18) was arrested and charged with Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawfully Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

Eric Martinez (38) was arrested on an outstanding warrant for 2nd Degree Motor Vehicle Theft.

Erica Hernandez (36) was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Harassment.

Keaton Hickson (25) was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance.

The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident. This incident remains under investigation and there is no further information available at this time.
