From the Grand Junction Fire Department:
Yesterday at 6:36 p.m. The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to the report of a home fire on the 2900 block of View Drive. The resident called 9-1-1 to report a fire in the kitchen of the doublewide trailer. A Mesa County Sheriffโs Deputy arrived and reported that the home was engulfed in flames. Fire crews worked to extinguish the fire and protect nearby homes. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation. One dog was rescued but four pet cats are believed to have died because of the fire.
The MCSO responded to assist with traffic control and scene safety. The American Red Cross responded to assist an adult and two children displaced by the fire.
