Update 8/5/24 – The sheriffs office denies any incident occurred on 8/4/24.
Currently unknown incident at the Mesa County Jail. Extra Sheriff deputies have been diverted to the facility and are searching prisoner pods and performing head counts. Grand Junction Police have been briefed about the incident.
