GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Sept. 24, 2025 — The Mesa County Coroner’s Office has identified the man found in the Colorado River on Sept. 22 as Billy Joe Roberts, 60, of Grand Junction.
Roberts was discovered submerged just north of the Independence Ranch area of the Redlands, the coroner said. An autopsy has been completed, but the cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is overseeing the case and will provide further updates.
