
CSP, police, and sheriff are out on a high risk traffic stop near Loves Truck Stop at Highway 6&50 and 22 Road. Law enforcement received information from another Colorado agency that a male suspect traveling in a vehicle on I-70 had made suicidal threats. The vehicle was located at the gas pumps at Loves Truck Stop.
Information received from the other agency suggested the suspect might be armed with a rifle and body armor. There is no active threat, however, law enforcement wants to contact the male due to the circumstances. Police are using a drone to check the vehicle to see if its occupied, and the SWAT Bearcat has been dispatched non-emergent to assist.

(MESA COUNTY, COLO) – On October 3, 2025, at approximately 1:17 a.m., a “be on the lookout” (BOLO) was issued by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a 39-year-old male out of Minnesota in a 2008 Ford Focus. The individual made suicidal threats to officers with the Lakeville Police Department in Lakeville, MN.
Troopers with the Colorado State Patrol quickly located the vehicle at a Love’s Truck Stop near Highway 6 and Interstate 70 in Mesa County. The Grand Junction Police Department assisted in securing the location to ensure the safety of the public and responding officers.
The 39-year-old male was detained by troopers, and it was determined by Emergency Medical Personnel that the party was not suicidal. A second adult male passenger was located in the vehicle.
This incident highlights the importance of swift communication and strong partnerships between local, state, and out-of-state law enforcement agencies. Thanks to the coordinated efforts between the Colorado State Patrol, the Grand Junction Police Department, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and the Lakeville Police Department, a potentially dangerous situation was resolved safely.
