Structure fire at a residence on Overlook Drive west of North 1st Street. Fire started in the attached garage area of the home. Crews have primary knockdown of the fire and are working to put out additional hot spots. Ceiling of garage was removed for access. No injuries reported.
Update: Crews extinguished the fire in the garage and worked to ensure that the fire had not spread to the home. The garage suffered significant damage, and there was light smoke damage throughout the house. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation. The Grand Junction Police Department assisted with traffic control and scene safety.
