
FRUITA, Colo. — A driver was arrested Sunday night after a hit-and-run and brief foot chase that began at 19 Road and J 2/10 Road, according to the Fruita Police Department.
Officers were dispatched around 9:06 p.m. on November 2, 2025, after a vehicle reportedly rear-ended another car at the intersection and fled. Police quickly located the suspect vehicle moving through Fruita. The driver—identified as Jerimy Gadberry—allegedly continued recklessly through multiple intersections before pulling into a parking lot near Independence Village on North Coulson Street.
When officers approached, Gadberry exited the vehicle and ran into a nearby field. After a short pursuit, he was taken into custody without further incident. Police say he showed signs of intoxication, later provided a breath sample over the legal limit, and had an open alcohol container in the vehicle.

Gadberry was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

- C.R.S. 18-8-103 – Resisting Arrest (M2)
- C.R.S. 18-3-208 – Reckless Endangerment (Two Counts) (M2)
- C.R.S. 42-4-1301(1)(a) – Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (M)
- C.R.S. 42-4-703(3) – Disregarded Stop Sign (TIA)
- C.R.S. 42-4-603 – Disregarded Traffic Control Device (TIA)
- C.R.S. 42-3-114 – Expired License Plates (TIB)
- C.R.S. 42-4-1401(1) – Reckless Driving (T2)
- C.R.S. 42-4-1305(2)(a) – Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle (TIA)
- C.R.S. 42-4-1606 – Failed to Notify Police of Accident (MT2)
- C.R.S. 42-4-1602(1) – Failed to Remain at the Scene of an Accident (MT2)
