Report of a house fire on Sacoma Court, just east of 26 1/2 Road. There is smoke and wood burning in the wall from a soldered plumbing connection under the house going up the wall. No flames visible. Crews on scene are assisting the home owner with removing drywall and attempting to extinguish.
Damage to the structure was limited, though light smoke damage was reported throughout the home. No injuries occurred.
Grand Junction Fire Department stated: “This incident highlights the importance of calling the fire department anytime a fire occurs, no matter how small, to ensure it is fully extinguished and not at risk of rekindling.”
