
Electrical fire reported in a bathroom at an apartment complex on Dawn Drive just east of 29 Road. Flames were seen but extinguished by resident. Police and fire are on scene. Fire Department is checking the bathroom and making sure the fire is fully extinguished.
GRAND JUNCTION, CO — Firefighters from the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a bathroom fire in an apartment on the 2700 block of Dawn Drive at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The apartment was unoccupied and undergoing cleaning when flames were spotted near the bathroom ventilation fan. The person on site tried to extinguish the fire using water before evacuating and awaiting fire crews.
Upon arrival, firefighters found no active flames and confirmed the fire was contained to the bathroom with no spread. There were no injuries reported.
The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation. The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control and scene safety.
