
Grand Junction, CO – A routine traffic stop late Friday night led to the arrest of a 44-year-old man on multiple drug-related charges, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
Officers pulled over a vehicle around 11:30 p.m. on November 21, 2025, due to expired registration. A police K9 officer, Loki, was deployed and alerted to the presence of illicit narcotics. A subsequent search uncovered over 49 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect, identified as Jesse Austin, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Distribution/Manufacture/Possession with Intent to Distribute > ½ oz–1/2 lb of Schedule I/II Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I/II Illegal Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- No Insurance in Possession
- Expired License Plates/Registration
- Driving on a Suspended License
Authorities believe this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public. The case is still under investigation, and no additional details are available at this time.
