Responders are on scene of a transformer fire on a utility pole in the area of E 1/2 Road and 31 1/2 Road in Clifton. The fire was out upon arrival. Crews are reporting obvious damage to the equipment and pole itself. Xcel Energy has been notified and has a crew dispatched.
Power appears to be out in the surrounding area including both homes and businesses in Clifton. Some traffic lights were also reported out. Schools in the area are also reporting no power. One of the schools was told by Xcel that power would likely be out for a few hours with estimated restoration around 2:30 p.m..
Update: 12:35 p.m.: Power is restored to most areas.
