A structure fire was reported around 4:09 p.m. in the 2200 block of Orchard Avenue. Fire crews, EMS and police responded after multiple callers reported heavy smoke and visible flames; one caller reported seeing someone run into the house.
Responders on scene reported a fully involved camper or shed in the backyard with flames extending into a nearby tree and popping sounds. Crews described the residence as a hoarder house and said they would not perform an offensive interior attack on the structure; instead firefighters focused on the camper fire from the alley. No injuries were reported in the radio traffic at this time.
Police are speaking with a male seen carrying property and running away from the area as the fire started.
Update: The camper in the yard has been extinguished and there is no extension to the house. Crews requested additional man power to handle extinguishing hot spots and yard debris due to the hoarding conditions.
Details are based on live scanner traffic and may change as official information is released.
