Lower Valley Fire District responded to a vehicle fire around 4:05 p.m. on Periwinkle Lane east of 18 Road in Fruita. Vehicle is described as a mail truck with a fire contained to the engine compartment, flames visible. Lower Valley crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. No other structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
