Trash and small brush fires were reported about 10:18 a.m. and 10:41 a.m. on the north side of the Union Pacific railroad tracks east of 28 1/2 Road near the I-70 Business Loop. Multiple callers and Union Pacific notified dispatch of heavy black smoke next to an RV storage facility; fire crews were sent and reported isolated burning in the weeds and a large pile of trash on fire. Responders advised both fires were quickly extinguished.

Callers reported two males walking away from the area — one last seen in a white T-shirt and jeans, the other in a black jacket and jeans with a black dog — and a separate passerby reported an individual in a green sweater walking northbound. Witnesses also reported a brown minivan possibly left the scene prior to arrival. No injuries were reported in the scanner traffic. Law enforcement is investigating.
