Man Arrested Following Mesa Avenue Stabbing

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 57-year-old Grand Junction man has been arrested following a stabbing incident on Tuesday evening.

At approximately 8:15 p.m. on March 3, 2026, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported altercation at a residence in the 2900 block of Mesa Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital for medical care.

The suspect, identified as Kevin Blakey, 57, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility. He faces the following charges:

  • Assault in the First Degree with Injury (Felony 3)
  • False Imprisonment (Misdemeanor 2)
