Suspect Arrested for Burglary and Assault

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 26-year-old man is facing felony burglary and assault charges following a reported vandalism and physical altercation late Sunday night.

At approximately 11:10 p.m. on March 8, 2026, Grand Junction Police officers responded to a vandalism report in the 500 block of N 24th Street. Dispatchers had received a 911 call reporting that a male was destroying items outside a residence before entering the home without permission.

During the investigation, officers determined that the suspect, who was known to the resident, made unforced entry into the house and engaged in a physical altercation. The victim sustained suspected minor injuries during the incident.

The suspect, identified as Luis Sigala-Sandoval, 26, was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility. He was booked on the following charges:

  • 3rd Degree Assault
  • Domestic Violence
