Disturbance with officer assaulted by suspect and is bleeding. Incident happened at the Kum and Go in DeBeque with the initial report being that a male around 25 years of age was assaulting a child. DeBeque officer was first on scene and attempted to taser the erratic suspect. The taser deployment did not take down the suspect, who then struck the officer in the head. Suspect is at gunpoint and citizens in the area are assisting the officer. Suspect is custody and being transported to the Mesa County jail by the sheriff.
