
MESA COUNTY, CO — On April 28, the Mesa County Board of County Commissioners approved a $1,002,316.80 construction contract with Mountain Valley Contracting Inc. for infrastructure improvements near Broadway Elementary School.
The project focuses on updating pedestrian and drainage systems along 22 1/2 Road and Greenbelt Drive to connect the area between CO-340 and Redlands Parkway.
Scope of Work:
- Construction of ADA-compliant sidewalks along 22 ½ Road and Greenbelt Drive.
- Upgrades to existing drainage systems on both corridors.
- Complete road resurfacing of Greenbelt Drive.
The project is a joint agreement involving Mesa County, the City of Grand Junction, and School District 51, aimed at consolidating the improvements into a single construction phase.
Construction will begin this summer. To minimize traffic and operational impacts, the work scheduled for 22 1/2 Road will take place during the school’s summer break. The project is slated for completion by late summer or early fall.
