
Fire crews and law enforcement responded around 4:59 p.m. to reports of a camper on fire on Smallwood Drive in Clifton. Radio traffic indicated the camper was parked next to another RV and a house, putting the neighboring units at risk.
Scanner traffic indicated the camper may have been set intentionally and that a female suspect left the scene in a white Range Rover. Crews arriving on scene report two campers, a shed, and a fence on fire. Crews from Clifton Fire District and mutual aid from Grand Junction station 8 were able to safely contain the blaze and quickly extinguish.
No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was contacted for one individual that was displaced by the fire.
