Fire crews and Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 10:05 p.m. to a vehicle fire in the desert on 27 1/4 Road, just west of the BLM shooting range.
Radio traffic indicated a silver Denali, believed to be an abandoned pickup, was set on fire and was exploding. The reporting party said they saw two males intentionally ignite the truck and then drive southbound on 27 1/4 Road about five minutes before the call. No injuries were reported and crews advised the fire was contained to the vehicle.
