Traffic Stop Leads to Fentanyl and Weapons Arrest

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 30-year-old man was arrested Thursday evening on multiple drug distribution and weapons charges following a traffic stop near 28 1/4 Road and Patterson Road.

On May 21, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Grand Junction Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop and took the suspect, identified as Brenden Wederath, 30, into custody in connection with an ongoing investigation.

Wederath was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility and booked on the following charges:

  • Distribution of a Controlled Substance – Fentanyl (>50 Grams)
  • Distribute/Manufacture/Possession with Intent (<1/2 Ounce of Methamphetamine)
  • Special Circumstances Conspiracy to Distribute/Manufacture/Sell
  • Possession of Weapons by Previous Offenders

According to JunctionNow jail booking records, Wederath was also jailed April 9th of last month for multiple vehicle and drug charges:
