Fire and EMS units responded shortly after 11:37 a.m. to America’s Inn / apartment complex on South Highway 50 in Orchard Mesa, after a caller reported a smell of hot wires and light smoke in an apartment. Dispatch advised the caller was evacuating.
Crews went interior and reported a light electrical odor but no visible smoke or flames. Crews located a faulty refrigerator causing the hazard and isolated it. No injuries were reported.
