Grand Junction and Fruita Police are investigating a shooting incident that possibly occurred in the area of Highway 6 & 50 near 24 Road. Part of the incident occurred on Cedar Way in Fruita with a male assaulting another male. Radio traffic indicates the shooting portion of the incident was near the 24 Road location. Police have lane closures on Highway 50 while they search the area for evidence.
A victim is reportedly at a local area hospital with unknown injuries, and its currently unknown if those injuries are from the assault or shooting portion of the incident.
Update 10:45 p.m.: Law enforcement has a suspect in custody at F Road and 33 Road.
