A garage fire was reported about 2:02 a.m. near P Road and 17 1/2 Road in Fruita. Lower Valley fire and EMS units were dispatched to the area, with Engine 31, Engine 32, Truck 31, Brush 31 and Ambulance 31.
Initial radio traffic described a fully involved shed threatening a nearby garage. Dispatch later confirmed the location in the 1700 block of P Road and advised crews found a fully involved single-story garage. Propane tanks and other flammable materials inside the structure were exploding. Responders declared a defensive firefighting response. No injuries were reported.
