An assault in progress was reported about 8:02 p.m. in the 700 block of Horizon Drive . Grand Junction Police units were dispatched and responded.
Dispatchers said a caller reported a male struck the reporting party in the face with a golf club and then flashed a firearm. The suspect was described as a white male in his 30s with long hair, wearing a hat, a dark blue shirt and blue jeans. Radio traffic indicated the suspect was inside an apartment in the complex, and officers reported seeing him briefly at the doorway. Law enforcement is on scene investigating.
