An intentional assault involving a crossbow was reported about 8:30 p.m. in the area of Cougar Run Court. Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies and EMS units responded with lights and sirens.
Radio traffic indicated a 45-year-old man sustained a cut near his eye after being struck by a crossbow bolt. A caller at the library later said the man was experiencing head pain and appeared to be losing consciousness. Scanner traffic described the alleged shooter as remaining at the residence on Cougar Run Court. Clifton EMS crews are assisting the victim at the Clifton Library and deputies are in contact with the suspect.
