A structure fire was reported around 2:00 p.m. in the 2800 block of C 1/2 Road after dispatchers received multiple reports of heavy flames. Multiple fire and EMS units and police responded; first-arriving crews reported a single-story, single-family residence with an involved vehicle and large flames from brush and debris on fire.
Radio traffic indicated nearby houses were being evacuated as propane tanks at the scene were exploding, creating a safety hazard. Responders advised incoming units to approach from the east; the first engine was directed to the alpha side to pull an attack line while a second unit was assigned to locate a hydrant.
Crews are working through lots of debris and brush fueling the fire. No injuries were currently reported.
