Brush Fire, Reeder Mesa Rd & Lands End Rd

A brush fire prompted a multi-unit fire and EMS response after callers reported flames in the 7800 block of Reeder Mesa Road north of Lands End Road in Whitewater.

Radio traffic indicated the fire began in a wood pile and was roughly 30 to 50 feet from a residence and nearby outbuildings. The blaze was described as smaller than a football field but producing heavy black smoke visible from 32 Road. No injuries were currently reported.

Update 12:55 p.m.: Crews on scene are reporting multiple “outbuildings” are now fully involved. Incident command is requesting air resources. At least one residential structure is now threatened.

Update 2:15 p.m.: Per Wildcad, the fire size is now 10 acres.
