
A single-motorcycle crash was reported around 11:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of Gunnison Avenue near 23rd Street. Grand Junction police and fire/EMS units responded to the scene with lights and sirens.
Radio traffic indicated an approximately 35-year-old male rider was conscious and breathing but suffered major head trauma and active bleeding after the motorcycle struck a pole and came to rest in a front yard. Westbound Gunnison Avenue was closed at 23rd Street while crews worked on the scene.
