Fire and EMS units responded shortly after 12:45 a.m. to reports of an oven fire at an apartment in the 500 block of Garfield Drive. Multiple engines were sent to the scene and incoming units initially responded with lights and sirens.
Radio traffic indicated the oven’s front glass had shattered and the apartment filled with smoke, though flames were reported contained to the appliance. Crews ventilated the unit, checked for fire extension into adjacent apartments and evacuated a neighboring second-floor unit as a precaution. No injuries were reported.
