A false alarm commercial structure fire was reported shortly before 9:00 p.m. at a large warehouse building in the 1100 block of 16 Road. Lower Valley Fire units were paged and also mutual aid from Grand Junction due to the size of the building.
Crews arriving on scene reported a small tree on the property had caught fire and a bystander had already extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher. Mutual aid crews were cleared and returned to stations. Lower Valley responders are conducting a thorough, precautionary check of the building to ensure there is no fire extension.
