Deputies Make Arrest for Falsifying Legal Documents

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 62-year-old Grand Junction woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly falsifying legal documents in an attempt to manipulate law enforcement proceedings regarding a restraining order.

On Thursday, August 6, deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a follow-up report of a restraining order violation in the 2700 block of Rincon Drive. Deputies spoke with an individual who claimed that a male residing at the address was refusing to leave the property.

Through their investigation, deputies discovered that the reporting individual, identified as Teresa Werner, 62, had falsified or manipulated information on the legal documents she presented to law enforcement in an attempt to influence their actions.

Werner was arrested as a result of the investigation and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility. She was booked on the following charges:
