GRAND JUNCTION, CO — The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating a three-vehicle collision involving a school bus that occurred Friday afternoon near North 12th Street and Bookcliff Avenue.
On Friday, August 14, at approximately 1:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to the scene of the crash.
Upon arrival, investigators determined the school bus was occupied by the driver, two staff members, and one student. Paramedics evaluated those on board and confirmed that no one on the bus was injured.
The drivers of the other two involved vehicles, who were the sole occupants, were transported to a local hospital to be assessed for possible injuries of an unknown extent.
The crash caused significant traffic disruptions in the area, blocking Bookcliff Avenue in both directions between North 11th Street and North 12th Street. Additionally, traffic was reduced to a single southbound lane on North 12th Street. Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution when traveling through the area.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and police stated that no citations have been issued at this time.

The crash involved the school bus, a brown GMC truck and a white Honda Accord. The other drivers were safely out of their vehicles. Radio traffic later reported at least one driver with an injured foot being taken to a hospital. Traffic was blocked in the area.
