Emergency crews responded around 2:32 a.m. to the diverging diamond at Highway 6&50 and the I-70 eastbound on-ramp after an automatic crash notification reported deployed airbags. Witnesses said a white Ford pickup struck a concrete barrier, sustained heavy damage and lost its front passenger wheel.
The truck was reportedly attempting to leave in the westbound lanes before departing the scene. Injuries were unknown. Responders found debris on the roadway but no vehicle.
The truck and driver were later located at 22 Road. Law enforcement is investigating.
