Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies and EMS responded around 11:45 a.m. to a reported assault at a pullout just west of Exit 49 on Highway 65. Witnesses reported a male chasing and striking a female, with later updates indicating the two were physically fighting.
The male was described as approximately 56 years old and wearing a green hat, gray tank top and tan shorts. The female, approximately 40, was reported outside the vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as a red Chevrolet Tahoe. No injuries were confirmed in the live radio traffic.
