
GRAND JUNCTION, CO — The Grand Junction Police Department is actively investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a female scooter rider early Monday morning.
On Monday, September 14, at approximately 12:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Westland Avenue and D Road following a report of a possible hit-and-run. A 911 caller alerted the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center after discovering an unconscious woman lying on the sidewalk next to a scooter.
First responders with the Grand Junction Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital. Tragically, despite life-saving efforts by hospital personnel, the woman succumbed to the injuries she sustained in the crash.
Authorities have stated that the investigation into this hit-and-run remains active and ongoing.
