Police Arrest Suspect in Riverside Parkway Stabbing

GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 29-year-old man was arrested Thursday on an attempted murder charge after allegedly stabbing a man multiple times during a dispute near the River City Sportsplex.

On September 30, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Grand Junction Police Department officers responded to a report of an assault in the 2500 block of Riverside Parkway. Dispatchers with the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center had received a call about a man arriving at a local hospital with an apparent stab wound.

According to investigators, the victim had been involved in a dispute with someone he knew on an island south of the River City Sportsplex. During the dispute, the suspect allegedly brandished a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times.

The victim sustained serious bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle.

Investigators identified the suspect as Noah Miller, 29, and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On October 1, officers located Miller in the area of 2525 Rimrock Avenue and took him into custody without incident.

Miller was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where he was booked on the following charges:

  • Attempted Second-Degree Murder
  • First-Degree Assault with Intent to Cause Serious Bodily Injury — Deadly Weapon
  • Felony Menacing — Real or Simulated Weapon
