GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 34-year-old Grand Junction woman was arrested on assault and child abuse charges at a Bunting Avenue home where deputies say they frequently make arrests involving warrants and drugs.
On October 20, just after 3:00 p.m., Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies located Jennifer Mercer, 34, at 3199 Bunting Avenue.
The arrest followed an investigation that began in August 2026 in coordination with the Mesa County Human Services Child Protection Division. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Mercer on October 20.
Deputies took Mercer into custody without incident. She was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- First-Degree Assault (Felony 3)
- Child Abuse (Felony 3)
- Criminal Attempt (Felony 4)
Authorities reported that Mercer remained in custody on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
