Fire crews responded about 4:12 p.m. to a reported commercial structure fire at a two-story building in the 200 block of North 7th Street. A reporting party smelled burning wires inside the building, possibly upstairs or near the roof, and the building was evacuated.
Battalion 1 reported no visible fire or additional hazards after completing a 360-degree assessment. Crews checked the interior and roof, with Rood Avenue closed during the response. Xcel Energy reported power outages on the building’s second floor, while crews later reported no smoke or heat there and a primary all-clear for that floor. No injuries were reported in the scanner traffic.
