Update: Police Arrest Man in Walmart Aggravated Robbery

From the Grand Junction Police Department:

On 10/06/24 at approximately 9:20 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department were dispatched to a report of a robbery which occurred at Rimrock Walmart located at 2545 Rimrock Avenue. Reporting parties stated a male was exiting the store with stolen merchandise. When he was approached by store employees, the suspect brandished a knife and left the store on foot.

On 10/07/24, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers located the suspect in the area of an underpass west of Rimrock Walmart. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility. Dominick Nichols, age 29, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery, Felony Menacing, and Theft.

The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing danger to the community. There is no further information available at this time.
