
GRAND JUNCTION, CO — The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating after an adult male was pulled from a local canal and later pronounced dead Monday evening.
On Monday, August 31, at approximately 7:10 p.m., 911 dispatchers received a call from a passerby near the intersection of North Avenue and 28 Road reporting an unresponsive person in the canal.
First responders from the Grand Junction Police Department and the Grand Junction Fire Department arrived at the scene and located an unconscious adult male submerged in the water and not breathing. Emergency personnel immediately initiated lifesaving efforts and transported the man to a local hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced dead.
Authorities stated that foul play is not suspected at this time. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
