Fruita Man Charged After Dispute Leads to Stabbing

FRUITA, CO — A 65-year-old man was arrested Friday evening after allegedly throwing a knife during a dispute, resulting in a serious leg injury to another man.

On June 5, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Fruita Police Department officers responded to a reported assault in the 800 block of East Cedar Court. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim with a serious leg injury and provided immediate medical aid until EMS personnel arrived.

During the investigation, authorities determined that the incident began as a dispute in a shared yard area. During the confrontation, the suspect reportedly threw a knife, which struck the victim.

The suspect, identified as Darryl Logan, 65, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Second-Degree Assault (Class 4 Felony)
  • Reckless Endangerment (Class 2 Misdemeanor)
