GRAND JUNCTION, CO — A 20-year-old woman is facing robbery and domestic violence charges after allegedly breaking into a vehicle, attacking the occupant, and briefly fleeing from Grand Junction police officers on Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, September 2, at approximately 1:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Mesa Avenue following reports of two women physically fighting in the area.
Investigators determined that the suspect, identified as Emma Anderson, 20, unlawfully entered the other woman’s vehicle while the victim was seated inside, in direct violation of an active protection order. Anderson then allegedly damaged and stole property belonging to the victim before a physical altercation broke out between the two women.
When authorities arrived, Anderson attempted to flee from police but was ultimately apprehended and taken into custody.
Anderson was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where she was booked on the following charges:
- Robbery
- First-Degree Criminal Trespass (Auto) with Intent to Commit Crime
- Criminal Mischief – $1,000 to $2,000
- Violation of a Protection Order (Two Counts)
- Obstruction of Telephone or Telegraph Service
- Obstructing a Peace Officer
- Harassment
- Domestic Violence
